Team 8's first gathering...

Kyo trailed behind Ai and Taiki. "This'll be great! We get to travel! I hope we meet some rogues on the way there. Then we'll get to fight!" He said excitedly.

Iruka caught up to Kyo, with a questioning look on his face. "So, what do you think your going to say the the Hokage?"

He didn't want his team to look out of place, he wanted to make a good first impression on the Third Hokage as a sensei.

Kyo looked up at him. "Hm? Oh... I dunno... I guess we were going to use team work, begging, and jutsus to convince him. Why do you ask Iruka-sensei?" He asked as he continued looking up at his sensei.

"Well, as your sensei I'de like to have a good first impression, I don`t want him to think that I can't handle such a role. But, I'm sure you wouldn't try to make me look bad. You could say I trust you, and have faith that you will get a mission you enjoy." He answured seeming quite happy.
Iruka smiled and contuied following Ai and Taiki.

[Taiki-kun]

^{Soon, the genin and their sensei made it all the way to The Hokage's Tower and into the hallway. All they needed to do was walk in to the office where hopefully Sarutobi sat.
Taiki motioned Ai to go in first because she acctually knows the mission better than anyone else.}

[Tenko]

As it was, it seemed she didn't need to.

Chakra quietly withdrawn, a man bedecked in red and white examined them firmly from the other end of the hall. He was an elder in his look, cheeks hallowed out and his pointed beard painted white, but those sharp eyes of his were filled with energy and authority. A soft smile adorned his aging features as clean hands tugged the pipe from his mouth, blowing a small stream of smoke from his lips.

Steady footfalls drew him close to the party of four, face kindly disposed and perhaps even... amused. When the Hokage spoke, his voice crackled like soft leather, and he laughed before any words were given, drawing his humor to the eye.

"Iruka," Sarutobi bid, hands clasped around a walking stick that he appeared to put no support upon. "I have to say, I wondered which team would come to me first, though I had supposed Uzumaki Naruto would've beaten you here." Smiling mildly, the old man turned his gaze upon the Chuunin's genin cell, as though the whole situation were a light one. "I'm afraid I didn't foresee what sort of trouble graduates like these would give you; here's an old man's apology."

Iruka bowed being in the presents of the Third Hokage.
He placed his right hand on the back on his hand and smiled with his eyes shut.
"Ahh, no Hokage-sama I'm very grateful that I was assigned a team, Thank you."

Iruka nudged Taiki with the back on his left hand, still smiling.

"We've come here, well they insisted to come and ask you a couple questions, if your not too busy." He asked bring both his hands back to his sides and opening his eyes.

[Taiki-kun]

^{"Sensei, I'm not suspost to ask, Ai is..." Taiki whispered as he was nudged. He felt to nervous to ask the leader of the village, and almost laughed at how old he was. To Taiki, it's the oldest person he's ever seen.
"Hurry up and go Ai," Taiki whispered to her as he nudged her.}

"YOH!!" Ai said, jumping from tree to tree. Heading inside the Hokage's office where they give missions, "HOKAGE-SAMA!!" The young Kunoichi yelled as she bursted into the room. The people stopped and stared at this mini-Tsunade coming in. They sighed in realif, seeing walking up to the Hokage, "My team wishes to have a harder mission. Just look at my team. One is the host of the six tails, another is a great Hekkai Genkkai user, and me...The one who speicalizes in weaponary." She said

IC//; Sarutobi eyed the lot of them, the welcoming smile not once fading from his features. Taking another breath of his pipe, he considered Konoha Ai's request.

One is the host of the six-tails... a great kekkai-genkai user... a weapons specialist.

Well, well. What a mouthful to this team.

"You seem to think, child, that you've already reached a professional status beyond your first mission." Seeming mildly amused by her demand, the Hokage looked upward towards Iruka's scarred face, and prompted curiously, "I'm not sure I would be pleased to hear the mission they have in mind, Iruka, considering not so long ago your students were quite keen to insult each other - and you."

Ah - the Toomegane, no doubt.

[Ari ღ]

Iruka smiled nervously, while Ai barged into the Hokage's office.
"Oh no, nothing like that." He answered.

"The Hokage does have a point, insulting each other and myself isn't all that respectful.." He thought looking at the ground, then looking back at the rest of his team.
"What if they can't handle a higher rank mission..?
He questioned to himself.

"I guess I'll have to show them again what excellent team work looks like.." He began looking at Taiki, then at the offices door.

"Yes, and thank-you Hokage-sama. I will work on their skills as an over all ninja." He said bowing and turning around.

Iruka headed for the door, expecting the rest of team eight to follow, no questions asked.

[Tenko]

Raising a brow at Iruka's nervous departure, the Sandaime's eyes trailed over his three students, wondering how they would respond and doubting that they would consider their sensei's withdrawel anything short of an outrage.

"Wait a moment, Iruka. You should know that shinobi don't escape so easily from challenging a superior's authority." The old man gave a mild laugh, and it seemed as though Sarutobi genuinely believed it to be a funny situation. "Wouldn't it be better for your budding students to let me know what they say of themselves? After all, I'm quite curious as to whether or not they had something in mind, coming here."

[Taiki-kun]

<sup>"WHAT! ARE YOU FREAKIN' SERIOUS! WE'VE WORKED HARD CLEANING THAT RIVER WITH WHO KNOWS WHAT INFESTING IT!"

Taiki has lost his mind... what he IS he thinking?

"We all want to do this mission, and I am not leaving until we get it! GOT IT!"

He didn't shout directly to the hokage, he wasn't /that/ disrespectful. Then he proceded to sit in a corner of the Hokage's office. His arms are crossed and a menacing look was set upon his face. The only thing he is hoping now, is that his team will agree with him, and he was hoping the ANBU woulden't pry him out.</sup>

[Tenko]

"Hmm." The kind look faded from the Hokage's face, replaced by a firmly-made calm; the old man closed his eyes simply, one hand on his cane and the other supporting his pipe, a sternly serious expression inhabiting his features as Taiki blew off steam.

"Perhaps," Sarutobi suggested, looking up at the rest of Iruka's team. "If the honorable Matsuo clan teaches their children such disrespect, I can trust that the other families attached to this team are equally lax." Looking sharply towards Taiki, he inhaled another breath of his pipe, closing his eyes to inquire further. "Tell me: do your team-mates also behave this way? Because if they do, perhaps it would be better if they left without a mission period. And if that would be so..." The Sandaime added this last prompt to cool down the hot-headed boy, not out of any malice or personal rage but as an example to Iruka not to act so lax as a sensei. "None of you would require your head-bands. Or a sensei. Or a genin team..."

Trailing off, he opened his eyes seriously and held the pipe away from his lips. "...Right?"

"Please Hokage-sama!!! My dad did dangerous missions when he was a Genin!!! And my Grandpa too!! Please?" That's when Ai performed her secret Jutsu, "Chibi Neko no Jutsu!" She yelled, transforming into a kitty version of herself, "Mew!" She said, purring, "Please Hokage-sama...For sweet little me? Mew?" She purred.
