Seirei's fairly pale complexion adds an almost sickly effect to his snowy hair, and his sanguine eyes mistakenly brings on the likeness of an albino. The white Gemini mask covering the left side of his face is the result of an old injury sustained in his childhood that Seirei is trying to hide for fear of appearing repulsive. His slightly elongated canines and slanted, cold eyes give him the appearance of a bat, though most minds jump automatically to vampire. The two black stripes on his lower cheek are part of an ancient clan tradition. (Which will be further delved into in the Clan Elaboration board, once Seirei has one created.)
Over the standard-issue, short-sleeve mesh undershirt, Seirei wears a cropped black belt-top, the sleeves of which double their function as a pair of gloves to add sturdiness for defensive maneuvers; the top leaves his belly, and the bottom half of his mesh shirt, exposed. The black trousers reach down past his ankles, and are undecorated, save for his shuriken-kunai pouch, which is strapped around his left thigh.
His feet are wrapped thickly with bandage, a replacement for the traditional zori shinobi usually wear, leaving only his toes visible.
The sole purpose of the bandaging is added support for defensive kicks, as well as an old clan tradition of increasing endurance by only using gauze to separate bare skin from the elements.
The necklace he wears is a remnant of his clan traditions; a child would receive such a trinket when they were considered old enough to learn the ways of the clan shinobi.
Personality:
Seirei is generally a fairly withdrawn person, though not afraid to speak his mind, should it come to that. He has a certain elegance about him, a trait he's adopted from his mentor, though he never considered the latter his teacher. He tends to be blunt with his opinions, and dislikes beating around the bush when important matters are at hand. Seirei will often, unknowingly, make rude comments toward others, provoking them into anger. Having known no friendship in his childhood, he holds little concern for those considered 'comrades'. He is an adept battler, and often makes pinpointed, shrewd decisions, even if they include causing injury to an ally. Despite his harsh mannerisms and cruel upbringing, Seirei knows where his loyalties lay.
Despite seeming like a revenge-smitten, lonely individual, Seirei has a fun-loving, almost giddy side (one that he often tries to bury in favor of appearing as a proper shinobi). This attribute was hidden under many layers of repeated lessons by his teacher, who took care to teach his young pupil to show no emotions, that the world was a cruel place where only the strong survived, and that friends were only another word for betrayal. Having eventually been made to believe this, Seirei hid his true personality underneath a cold, calculating shell, leaving out only one tendril of his former self.
Having had little interaction with children his age, Seirei understands - and concerns himself with - little of true friendship, and often confuses the fact with another matter; surviving in the world he'd been abandoned into at a young age.
History:
Seirei had always thought being born into the Kurogane clan was a thing of great blessing; the people of the Land of Birds were peaceful and content with their lives; it went no differently for Seirei's clan. The Kurogane were well known for their smiths, who spent most of their working hours building small figures of the thousands of species of birds that lived in the small country; these were accompanied by necklaces, bracelets, other jewelry, and even whistles, that, when blown, made such an imitation of the particular bird species it was assigned to, one would think it was nothing short of a living creature.
Seirei's parents, Kurogane Kahori and Kurogane Akio, were part of the metalworking sect of the clan; the little boy would often accompany his parents to their jobs, marveling at the intricate bird statues and accessories. What most struck his fancy was the particular whistle that created the eerie, haunting yodel of the Black-Throated Diver, more commonly known as an Arctic Loon.
At the age of six {6}, Seirei was given the traditional clan symbol; a necklace with a small silver bird with wings outstretched, decorated by beads. It was then that he was introduced to the ancient art of copying various birdsong. His mentor, Bunrakuken, was an old man with a head of white, thinning hair and a mustache and beard to match. Seirei would spend hours with his mentor, trying to learn the intricate art. The perfect song, his sensei would tell him, came from just the right amount of chakra directed to the vocal cords. After a few months, Seirei learned the proper technique, but also began to hate his teacher more and more, as Bunrakuken forbade him from going out and learning more on his own. Despite this, Seirei would escape on his own, and spend hours in the forest, surrounded by birds of different species, trying to perfect his art of copying birdsong. Once he'd return to Bunrakuken, he'd receive a sound beating, but he'd always have something to show the strict man; he'd spend several hours listening to human conversations in order to learn the different tones and unique voices. It became Seirei's signature, and he'd often cause havoc by sneaking behind people and whispering into their ears in an eerie voice in order to scare them.
At age ten {10}, would have been at the ideal age to learn the way of the shinobi, when tragedy struck. One of the opposing clans laid an ambush on the Kurogane, burning the houses and destroying the years of metalwork. It was then that Seirei's father, Akio, proposed to send his son to the Hidden Leaf Village, Konoha, to keep him safe until the battle was over and peace ruled once more. Despite his screaming protests, Seirei was taken from his parents; the boy, in the midst of the dancing flames with his protector, struggled free and began to run back for his parents, was struck in the face by a falling piece of smoldering wood; the side of his face was burned and scarred forever. Taking advantage of this situation, the Kurogane shinobi assigned to escort Seirei, scooped the unconscious boy into his arms and left the Land of Birds.
At Konohagakure no Sato, Seirei was eventually enrolled into the Academy to learn the way of shinobi; while there, he became friendly with a few of the students his own age. Aburame Shino and Inuzuka Kiba, mainly. He graduated at age thirteen with decent marks, and eventually detached himself from everything and anyone, concentrating his frustration on the training field to learn his signature attacks by employing his skill of birdsong imitation to his advantage.
Now that the time had come for the Chuunin exams, Seirei was more than ready for it; he hadn't heard from his parents in years, which led him to believe they had either forgotten about him or were dead. Nevertheless, he continued his training, vowing to become the best there was.
Other:
Friendly with Aburame Shino and Inuzuka Kiba. He knows Hinata and Neji distantly, mainly from his encounters at the Academy and the talk he's heard of the Legendary Hyuuga clan.
Battle Information
Weapons: Kunai, shuriken, wire, exploding tags, and sometimes poison-infused senbon.
Known Jutsu:
Academy/Genin Level Jutsu:
Bikō Ninjutsu (Shadowing Stealth Skill) - Bikō Ninjutsu is the technique ninjas use to follow their targets covertly. The manner in which the ninja shadows their target can differ, from the basic hiding under a nearby object, to using a jutsu to turn oneself invisible.
Bunshin no Jutsu (Clone Technique) - The Bunshin technique creates a copy of the ninja without substance. The copy resembles the ninja in every way. This clone can function as a distraction or as means to confuse one's opponent. As soon the Bunshin gets attacked or comes into contact with an opponent, it will disperse.
Henge no Jutsu (Transformation Technique) - Henge allows the ninja to tranform themself into any person or object. This allows the ninja to move with stealth or to trick their opponents.
Kawarimi no Jutsu (Change of Stance Technique) - This jutsu lets the user quickly switch places with another nearby object, such as a plant (normally a section of a log), an animal, or even another person within reach, leaving the opponent open to a counter-attack. Explosive tags can be attached to the replacement for an added surprise. Fundamentally, all ninja know this technique.
Shunshin no Jutsu (Body Flicker) - This jutsu is a high-speed movement technique, allowing a ninja to move short distances at an almost untraceable speed. To an observer, it appears as if the user has teleported. A puff of smoke is occasionally used to disguise the user's movements. It is accomplished by using chakra to temporarily boost the user's reflexes. The amount of chakra required depends on the overall distance between the user and their intended destination.
Kakuremino no Jutsu (Cloak of Invisibility) - This jutsu allows a ninja to take a cloak or a piece of cloth and blend into an object, making them invisible.
Nawanuke no Jutsu (Rope Escape Technique) - Allows a ninja to escape if they have been bound.
Jibaku Fuda: Kassei (Explosive Tag: Activate) - Utilizing chakra, the user is able to activate the explosion mechanism of a distant bomb tag.
Kai (Release) - Used to release a Genjutsu, if the victim can recognize it.
Dokunuki no Jutsu (Poison Withdrawal) - Allows a shinobi to draw out poison from one's body.
Tōbidogu (Projectile Weapons) - Larger amounts of weapons can be sealed within scrolls for easier transport. The weapons can be summoned via a small blood sacrifice.
Suimen Hokō no Waza (Act of Water Surface Walking) - A variation on the Kinobori no Waza (Act of Tree Climbing), the art of water surface walking allows a ninja to walk on water as if it was a solid surface. Focusing an even amount of chakra out of the soles of their feet, they can balance themselves on the very surface of the water.
Kinobori no Waza (Act of Tree Climbing) - Focusing an even amount of chakra out of the soles of their feet, they can balance themselves on the surface of the tree.
Other Jutsu:
Ninpō: Jigoku Himei (Ninja Art: Hell Shriek) - Utilizing his skill of imitating birdsong, Seirei will combine several together, and then release them on a magnified scale; the sound waves are strong enough to puncture the eardrum, should the enemy be close enough.
{Talk about making your ears bleed. xD}
Ninpō: Hyaku Sai Himei (intended name;; One Hundred Continuous Shrieks) - A larger-scale version of the Jigoku Himei, this will only not cause damage to the enemy's hearing, it can also break bones at a close distance; the drawback of the attack is, it can only be used a few times before resting; the user's throat may also begin to bleed from the effort.
Ninpō: Torikomichuu (Ninja Art: In Midst of Confusion) - The user will hide away in a location concealed from the enemy, and then, utilizing the body flicker, move around in a jagged circle, occasionally pausing to copy various different human voices to cause the opponent to think there are more shinobi around them than just the user. (This technique can also be used with various birdsong.)
Main fighting style:
A combination of stealth-executed Ninjutsu, as well as Taijutsu.
Example of Writing:
[My introduction from Pokemon Remoor. :P]
Heavy-set clouds seemingly intent on releasing their quarry of water upon unwary travelers roiled over each other, as if squabbling over the best position from which to disgorge their load and be done with it, so as to be ready to make way for the Queen - the dark premonition of a thunderstorm looming overhead, well concealed behind her corpulent heralds. She was a patient one, the squall was. She'd been biding her time for some time now, waiting for the perfect candidate to test her full power on. And one had arrived.
In fact, the one she wanted to frighten was directly below, humming merrily and singing occasional, patchy lyrics to the graceful feline beside him, who was adorned with a brand-new, pretty violet ribbon tied around the midst of her beautifully arched and coiled tail, which she kept aloft, out of the way of any harm. The fat, golden charm in the very center of her forehead gleamed brightly, reflecting the sodden, woeful skies above happily, with no foresight of the ruin that was about to be unleashed upon its owner and her master; they remained blissfully unaware of the impending danger, chatting away, the Meowth's mind completely besotted with her new accessory, and the boy. . . well, the boy. . .
Should a twenty-one-year-old man be called a boy, if there even was such a thing, Nicolas Valentine Sparrow was just that. He moved along contentedly, with something of a feline grace, balancing on the bandage-wrapped, paw-like feet with seeming ease; the equally creature-like hands swung in accordance to each other like a metronome, wrapped by gauze.
Brilliantly sanguine, beautifully slanted eyes sparkled with anticipation as their owner neared the building of new beginnings for most, keeping pace with his companion. The elegantly pointed, pink ears nestled within the snowy hair were slanted backward easily, twitching reassuringly, while the whiplike tail, a tuft of pink shaped like an oval with three golden balls at its tip swayed back and forth at chest height; the wind caught the ends of the bright white ribbon in the middle of the limb, playing with them teasingly for moments, before letting them go, only to return seconds later to repeat the session.
Eventually, as the Skitty 'morph and his Meowth companion finally reached the ends of their journey to the Remoor Laboratory of Barkwish Town, the Queen began to emerge, threateningly dropping a few crashing beats to warn her victims, coupling them with bright blue bolts of lightning; her messengers loosed their long-held tension, dousing the ground with a sheet of icy water.
The young man, Nicolas Sparrow, and his partner, Maud, watched the spectacle with burning relief, having just escaped the phenomenon by seeking shelter under the porch of the renowned professor's house. With a sigh of apparent relief, young Nicolas turned to knock upon the door of the professor's home, looking askance at the Queen's doing, as she pummeled the earth with her fury, rampaging that she could not bend the two under her will.
